A Chromebook is a laptop computer that runs Chrome OS as its primary operating system. The devices are designed to be primarily used while connected to the Internet, with most applications and data residing in “the cloud", although the Chromebook does also have offline capabilities that have been enabled. Chromebooks integrate with your child’s school provided Marion Local Google account providing instant access to the Google Apps for Education suite of tools, including Google Drive, Docs and Google Classroom. Chromebooks have recently overtaken the iPad as the number one device used in education due to the device’s extended battery life, instant boot time, low cost and portability. Chromebooks provide access to all the webbased tools utilized in the classroom.
